For You.
Whoever you are and whatever your background you can be assured of a warm welcome at Holyrood. From the youngest to the oldest we have something for everyone.
Infants
Sundays
We love to welcome even the tiniest of babies into our services and we all stay together in the church during the first part of worship. We provide a free crèche during our Sunday morning services where parents can leave their little ones while they return to the main service. All those working with children and young people are fully trained in safeguarding and are PVG checked.
Baby & Toddler Group
Mondays 10.00am – 11.30am
Our Baby and Toddler Group is open to all whether you attend church or not. We meet on Monday mornings during term time for free-play, crafts, a bible story, singing and snack. The group is open to all parents and unpaid carers. There’s tea and coffee available and we’d love to see you there!
We ask for a £1 donation per family and places are limited.
If you would like to come along, please contact Liz Scott on 07773 571080 or Liz@holyroodchurch.org.

Children
Children are important in our church family. We want to provide all children with a fun, safe and nurturing environment where they forme close friendships and learn what it means to follow Jesus.
Sunday Club children (ages 3-12) stay in the church for the first part of the service and then go down to the hall for their group times. We explore God’s word together through games, songs and crafts with lots of discussion throughout.
Sunday Club time begins with all the children together for a song and a short message and sharing of news. Then the children split into two groups to dig deeper into the Bible and explore what this means to them.

Teens
‘Holyrood Youth’ is for young people of secondary school age (S1-S6). They meet every once a month in term time (normally on a Friday night) to have fun, fellowship, lots of snacks and to learn more about what it means to live for Jesus in 21st century Edinburgh.

Students
Different students need different types of churches. If you are looking for a home away from home, Holyrood is an ideal church family. We are careful to make sure that students are invited regularly into members’ homes and are warmly cared for. We believe that church should be a family. Rather than have a specific ministry for students, we try to embed students in the wider life of the congregation. If you are new to the city and looking for home cooked meals and genuine friendships, come to Holyrood.

Men & Women’s Ministries
Women’s Ministry
We have women from all walks of life at Holyrood, who want to spend time together and support one another. The women in Holyrood gather together to encourage one another and be equipped through God’s Word. We meet at various times through the year for one to ones, weekly Bible studies, breakfasts along with day conferences. We’d love you to join us!
Men’s Ministry
We want men to develop the wisdom and character needed to be loving husbands, caring fathers, and useful servants. For us, men’s discipleship means studying the Bible, growing in godliness, and having spiritual friends. At times, this means reading a book together; at other times, it means taking a hill walk, having a curry, or attending a men’s weekend away. We want men to feel as if they have a band of brothers with whom they can share the joys and struggles of the Christian life.

Families
We believe children are the future of the church. Therefore, we work hard to partner with families to disciple their children. This means several things for us. First, we work hard to make sure that our children and youth ministries are both instructive and engaging. Children need to learn, but they also need to be inspired. We want to fill their minds with the truths of the Bible while also warming their hearts to the love of God and the beauty of Christ.
Second, we believe that an important way of counteracting the negative impact of peer pressure is to make sure that children feel loved and known. This in mind, we want our church to be a multigenerational family, one in which children feel welcomed, encouraged, and supported by the entire congregation.
We also realise that some families have special needs. We are always willing to work with families to love each and every child specifically and to find creative solutions to enable children to encounter the grace of Jesus.
